The only directives that came out of this meeting were as follows - 1) Superintendent McComas will continue working with the architect to finalize the design for the new construction at the Chestertown site; 2) Superintendent McComas will meet with the IAC to confirm the numbers for the new construction and find out if replacing the roof at the former WES is covered by any state share in cost and; 3) the County Commissioners will work on hard numbers for taking out a bond and how it could impact taxes.
The alternative idea that was pitched by a commissioner was already researched and rejected as part of the many years long process of completing the feasibility study, holding multiple community engagement meetings and ultimately the final decision and vote by the BOE to move forward with new construction at the Chestertown site. I have to disagree. This report is full of holes and doesn’t report the whole story. Also, I am very disappointed in the decision of our county commissioners on this issue.

Also, the picture used is very misleading. This was one of the proposed locations that did not get the final vote.
